1. Conversation Review
Ross : Ready to relax and take it easy for the evening?
Me : Yes, but i didn't eat my dinner so I'm little bit hungry now.
(English) : Yes, that's all well and good, but I haven't had dinner and I'm a little hungry.
Ross : Today's topic or theme is relaxing and unwinding so we'll gonna have an conversation around that, I'll show you some words and relationship to the subject matter, and then we'll talk little bit about this. So, are you familiar with the phrase "zone out"?
Me : No
의도(English) : No. I've never heard of it.
Ross : Won't you read those two sentences and tell me if you can figure out what "zone out" might mean?
Me : Okay. I think I got it but I think about how to explain this meaning in English.
(English) : Yes. I think I know what it means, but I can't express this in English.
Ross : Try the best you can, this is how we expand the vocabulary so tried out and I will rephrase to help you if you needed.
Me : I think "zone out" means "do not have any attention"
(English) : I think “zone out” probably means “do not pay attention”.
Ross : Do you do anything to "zone out" or that you zone out with?
Me : I didn't zone out I think, but I heard that in Korea, there is a zone out competition. I don't know how to estimate someone zone out, but there is that competition.
(English) : I can't “zone out” easily, but I've heard that there's a dumbbell competition in Korea. Of course, I'm not sure how they evaluate dumbbells, but there is.
Ross : So take a look at one or two those sentences there, and tell me what you think "decompress" might mean.
Me : I think it means throw out some stress.
(English) : I think it's meant to blow off stress.
Ross : Is there anything that you do to decompress?
Me : Listening to music is my way to decompress.
(English) : I think I usally decompressing while listening to a song.
Ross : Tell me what you think "pamper" might mean.
Me : I think it means growing up self-confidence.
(English) : I think “pamper” has something to do with boosting self-esteem.
Ross : Is there anything that you might do to pamper yourself?
Me : I also do shopping when I want to pamper myself.
(English) : I also shop to pamper myself.
Ross : Are you familiar with this phrase at all? Have you heard this before?
Me : No, it's also new to me.
(English) : No. I've never heard of this either.
Ross : Take a look at the sentences and tell me what you think it might mean.
Me : I think it's close to mean the word "calm down".
(English) : I think it's similar to “calm down”.
Ross : Could you tell me what you do to unwind after a long day of work or whatever really stressing you out that day?
Me : I think I just walking on the park.
(English) : I think I'm just going for a walk.
Ross : Is this something you do often or is this something that you do regularly?
Me : I think it's sometimes walking on the park.
(English) : I go for a walk sometimes.
Ross : What else will you do to relax? Something new that you like to do that helps you relax after you start to feel stress.
Me : I think the best way is go for a trip.
(English) : The best way is to travel.
Ross : Does the destination matter for you on the trip or the just leaving the place that's important?
Me : It doesn't matter but I like to go as far as possible.
(English) : It doesn't really matter, but I still want to get as far away as possible.
Ross : When you are on that trip, what would you like to do when you go on the trip if you are doing that to unwind.
Me : Actually I'm very talkative person, so I meet some new peoples or make some friends in there or I just zone out watching the nice view.
(English) : I'm a very talkative person, so I'm sure I'll meet new people or make new friends in my travels, and if not, I'll just zone out with a good view.
Ross : How long do you like to spend on your trips when you wanna get away? How many days do you like to travel for?
Me : It is also as long as possible, in many reasons I usually go for a trip about 3 or 5 days.
(English) : Again, I'd like to go as long as possible, but for various reasons, I'm usually gone for 3-5 days.
Ross : So you probably hit a lot of the different countries then, you hit most of the countries?
Me : Yes, I enter to the London and go back home at Spain.
(English) : Yeah, I went into the UK and came out of Spain.
Ross : What made you decide you wanna to do 7 weeks trip to Europe?
Me : I was always dreaming to go to the Europe when I was high school student. So when I graduate my highschool, I get some money and then go.
(English) : I've always wanted to go to Europe since I was in high school, so as soon as I graduated from high school, I saved up some money, got some support from my parents, and went.
