by climba 2024. 3. 24.

1. Conversation Review

Ross : Hello~ How are you today?
Me : I'm very good today.
-> Very good today

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OnpbDh19Ts

(근데 막상 또 영상을 보면 How are you today?/How's it going?

Ross : And remind me what that was? What was  that you do?
Me : Actually I'm a student now but I do the intern in research Institute(KIST).
(English) : Actually, I'm doing an undergraduate internship at a research institute called KIST, and I'm probably going to start my master's here in September this year.

Ross : What kind of research are you doing?
Me : Do you know Stable Diffusion which is generate a image when user type a text and AI model create a new image which is not exist.
(English) : As I mentioned briefly last time, I'm working on an image generation model called stable diffusion, which takes text as input from the user and generates a new image to match it.

Ross : So why don't you tell me what you like to do in your free time?
Me : In the past days, my hobby was play the guitar, but these days, I'm little bit busy so I don't have enough time to play the guitar so I think these days my hobby is watching Netflix or Youtube.

(English) :  My hobby used to be playing guitar, but nowadays I'm a bit busy and don't  have enough time to play

guitar, so I watch Netflix or YouTube.

Ross : Okay alright. Did you wanna do writing as well cause you wanna to do conversation with me . Is writing something you wanna to work on or just right conversation?
Me : I think writing is also important, but in my case, I think conversation skill is more important than writing because I can get help so many tools for writing but conversation cannot get some help.

(English) : I think writing is important, but I think conversational skills are a little bit more important, because writing skills can be developed with the help of different tools or services like chatgpt, but conversations are a little bit harder to develop with the help of those things.

Ross : So you watch cooking shows on Youtube. What would you like to watch on Netflix?

Me : In Netflix, I watch Korean drama or Korean movies like Squid game.
(English) : On Netflix, I usually watch a lot of Korean dramas and movies like "Squid Game".

Ross : In English, the first season was good but the second season wasn't great But in English it was called "The Uncaany Counter" Have you heard that one?

Me : Ah.. I know this but I didn't see it.
(English) : I've heard of it, but I haven't seen it. One of the actors in it is one of my favorite actors.

Ross : Any other shows that I might recognize that you watch?

Me : There is one show, but I don't know this show's English name, I just know this show's Korean name. "A Killer Paradox"? Do you know this?
"A Killer Paradox"네요.
(English) : There's one, I don't know the English name of this movie, but I know the Korean name... "A Killer Paradox". Have you heard of it?

Ross : That was a good one too.

Me : I really recommend this show. It's very good.
(English) : I recently watched this with my family and it was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it.

Ross : One of my favorite zombie movies is "Train to Busan". That was a really well-done movie so have you seen that one?

Me : oh "Train to Busan" yeah, I saw it.
(English) : I really enjoyed the movie too, because I really like the work of actor Ma Dong-seok, and I was worried that it would be inferior in quality compared to movies like The Walking Dead because it was a zombie movie made in Korea, but it was more fun than I thought.

Ross : Do you rewatch a lot of shows?

Me : No, actually I didn't rewatch but "Sherlock Holmes" is so great that I rewatch it 5 times.
(English) : No. Rather than watching a movie multiple times, I'm thinking of watching multiple movies at a time. But Sherlock Holmes was such an interesting series that I watched it multiple times.

Ross : Do you instead of practicing playing the guitar do you watch Netflix and Youtube because you are tired after doing everything you do for school work?

Me : So the question is why I watch movie instead of playing the guitar? Maybe it is little bit more tired playing the guitar than watching movie or youtube. Watching them I can do that in my bed, but playing the guitar I have to practice the hand shape, and little bit stressful.
(English) : I enjoy playing guitar, but my fingers hurt a lot, and it's really hard to practice the fingering technique,

and sometimes it's stressful. Above all, I can watch Netflix or YouTube while lying in bed, but I think I just wanted to  relax because guitar is something you have to practice hard to get good at.

2. Feedback

Vocabulary good

Unstanding(+listening) good

but have some gramatical issue (broken sentences, leave out the articles(a, an, the), verb)
